Tamreena is an app for in-person fitness coaches in Egypt and their clients. This page says what Tamreena keeps about you, why, who sees it, and how to delete it.
What Tamreena keeps
- Your account: your name and mobile number (typed in by your coach, or by Tamreena for coaches), your password (kept only in a scrambled form that can't be turned back into it), the app's language, and your gender if your coach adds it.
- Your coaching: who your coach is, your training days and times, the programs and notes your coach writes for you, and when your account was active or paused.
- Your training: the sessions you or your coach log, with their date and times, the exercises, and each set's weight, repetitions or seconds.
- Your body measurements: weigh-ins and InBody results (weight, muscle mass, fat mass, body-fat percentage, resting calorie burn and visceral fat level), typed in by you or your coach, and a photo of the InBody sheet if one is added.
- If you coach: the exercises, programs and video links you add, and your clients' details above.
Why
To run the service you and your coach use: showing programs and progress, logging sessions, keeping your phones in step, and keeping accounts safe. Tamreena doesn't sell your data and doesn't use it for advertising.
Who sees it
Your coach sees your account, your training and your body measurements. You see your coach's name and number. Nobody else who uses Tamreena sees them, and InBody sheet photos are never public: only you and your coach can open them. The people who run Tamreena can see them when that's needed to run the service or fix a problem.
Services Tamreena uses
- DigitalOcean keeps the database and the InBody sheet photos on servers in Frankfurt, Germany.
- PostHog (servers in the European Union) receives usage numbers: which screens are opened, how long saving a set takes, the app version, the phone model, and the city or region worked out from your internet address. It gets a random id for you, never your name, your number or anything you type.
- Sentry (servers in the United States) receives crash reports: the error, the app version and the phone model. Names, numbers and passwords are removed first, and no id for you is attached.
- Google Play and the App Store deliver the app, under their own privacy policies. Invite links and summaries you choose to send go through WhatsApp.
On your phone
The app keeps a copy of your data on your phone so it works with no signal. Logging out removes it from the phone. InBody sheet photos are the exception: the app shows them only while it's open, and doesn't keep a copy on the phone.
How long it's kept
As long as your account exists. When an account is deleted, its data is erased from Tamreena's database at once, and copies in backups are gone within 30 days. Usage numbers stay in PostHog under the random id, which no longer leads to anyone.
Deleting your account
In the app: Account, then Delete account. On the web: the page linked below. Or contact Tamreena and ask.
It erases everything above: your account, your training, and your weigh-ins, InBody results and sheet photos.
If you coach, deleting your account also deletes your clients' accounts, their training history and their body measurements. Clients who also coach keep their own coach account.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how it's used, by contacting Tamreena. Your coach can correct most details in the app. Under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (No. 151 of 2020), you can also complain to the Personal Data Protection Centre.
Age
Tamreena is for people aged 16 and over.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored scrambled, the database can't be reached from the internet, and the admin panel needs a password and an authenticator code.
Changes
When this policy changes, this page and its date change. Big changes are announced in the app.
Contact
Tamreena is run by Adham Ahmed.
